Welcome, Where we are, where we need to be
Welcome to the CFI Biz Blog. To start off, I thought we’d share a brief intro as to where we are, and also where we need to be. In our next post, we’ll talk a bit more about why we’re doing a business blog, and what our goals for this blog are.
So where are we?
Well, since we started here in Sandyford, we’ve gone from about 25 dedicated members to 85. Not bad considering the weather we had in January, and the mistakes we’ve made along the way (which have been plenty!!).

We started with no real systems, and no real idea of how to work everything together apart from the belief that this could be something wonderful, and that we had an abundance of knowledge we could share and provide real value and experience to everyone.
Now, at least we’ve started to implement more systems to make everything run smoother and provide a better experience for everyone taking part. We’ve removed the Essentials program, and introduced leveled classes. From our point of view having everyone on the same level training together has already made a huge difference. We can now impart more information, and the fear of being ‘the guy who’s not very good at this stuff’ is gone because you’re no longer working out next to someone with 200 workouts under their belt.
Where we need to be?
We always need to be better, and we’re always trying to be better. “Every day is a school day” as Tom likes to put it. Better at everything, really. Better at our knowledge of exercise and movement. Better at prehab and rehab. Better at group and time management. Essentially tightening up all our systems so that the experience and value keeps on getting better for everyone.
In ideal terms, we’d like 150 members by the end of the year. 150 people would make the community really solid. 150 people who are committed, enjoying themselves, making friends and seeing the results they deserve. 150 is also the number where CrossFit as a business becomes viable and can sustain itself long term.
To get there we of course need you, as cliche as it is, we’d be nowhere without you guys and your loyalty to us. We need you to spread the word and invite people to join what we’re doing here. We can’t do this without you all. It’s as simple as that.
So if you like what we’re doing, just get one person to give us a call and schedule an intro with us.
We’ll continue to improve every aspect of what we do here for you. As always, please let us know how we can make your experience with us at CFI better.
As always, thank you.

HI…a business blog is a great idea, as a Crossfitter in Cork its inspiring to read stuff like this. Its great to share with people what you’re going through as a business, I think people like to know about your own struggles and successes. Makes us all human and accessable.
Anyway, keep up the good work and I’ll be reading and learning!
Tom
Might be an idea to add some of those “sharing” links to the blog so people can post direct to their Facebook, stumbleupon etc etc….throwing it onto Linkedin right now
