  1. 3.5km run, 2 400m sprints, 300 skips, situps and pressups 60 and 30.

Good luck to everyone tackling Angie today.

  2. Today really brought home why i love crossfit.. What an atmosphere! Thanks a mill to everyone for cheering me on and doing the air squats with me, it was awesome! What other gym would you ever get that in!

  3. Well done to all who took part in the challenge for the last 40 days, there were some fantastic times today with people knocking huge chunks of time off their previous efforts. Well done especially to all the novices, you should be proud of yourselves.

Remember the race is long and in the end it’s only with yourself, keep the faith people

Janice, BTW Colm considered changing the name from Crossfit Ireland to “The Institute of Awesomeness”………..Now who wouldn’t want to be certified from a place like that

  4. I don’t know about you guys but seeing the progress I’ve made makes me want to do the 40 days over again! I can do better on those damn push ups!

  5. “I currently have a Level 2 certification in Awesomeness”.. sounds good to me. Make it happen Colm!

  6. James – I’m 12 days into the second 40 days (and my 5th 40 day session overall I think), and trust me the first 40 days is the hardest, after that it becomes a walk in the park.

Great atmosphere down in the gym this morning, everyone did stellar work. And thanks again to Tony for the delicious flapjacks, if we’re all extra nice to him he might post up the recipe for us!!

Will – hope the hand is a bit better, looked like a nasty rip!

  7. Good idea James. Repeat of Angie in 40 days anyone? The first 40 I worked on my pullups, time to work on pushups!

  8. I’d like to get a sub-20 minute Angie, I’m only 1 minute off, so I’d be up for a re-test in 40 days if our esteemed coaches are on board!

  9. Good thinking Eamonn.. count me in for round 2 of Angie too, if it’s happening! Pretty sure I deducted around 10 or 15 from my situp count at one point, kept getting distracted cracking up at Colm after “Reach for the stars” came on!

  10. I think Colm not only reached but actually caught the stars today with his stellar dance routine!

  11. 40 days from now might fall close to the invitational so maybe a little before or after would be better- I also wouldn’t be opposed to a 2 wod challenge(doesnt have to be on the same day)- maybe angie and another wod that incorporates more strength or running etc.

  12. Today was BEYOND AWESOME (caplocks needed) down at CFI.

There was solid lifting and comedy gold during the lifting, a good bit of craic with the rugby ball ;) and then Angie was superb. Massive improvements from so many people, and plenty of encouragement and camaraderie to boot!

Rosie took a whopping twelve minutes off her time, and I’d say the smile will be on her face for a while yet!

Janice arrived a tad late and was afraid she wouldn’t get a shot, but we started off and boy! did she fire through the pull ups! Thanks to everyone who joined in the group squatting – No one works out alone at CFI!

Oh, and if you think my “Reach” dance was good, wait til you see the choreography for “Don’t Stop Movin to the S Club Beat”

Thank you one and all, terrific day!

  13. AND it’s sunny too.. off for a cycle to Deerpark after reading outside catchin’ some rays in the grass, happy days :)

Get working on that choreography Colm. That can be your next 40-day challenge!

  14. Feeling the pain today after my first Angie in Crossfit. I am looking forward to repeating it again in 6 weeks to try to shave mins off my long time….. Colm/Tom/Will/Aidan thanks for the encouragement, it was badly needed….
