Hams are burning, but..must…keep…going
If any of you are interested, you can register your interest for tickets for London 2012 on the web site now- http://london2012.com
I agree with Dutch on the deadlift point. High rep deads with heavy ish weight either injure me or make the next day or two of training worthless. Im not a fan.
I signed up to that Paddy and registered my interest in Athletics, Gymnastics & Weightlifting. It would be pretty damn cool actually now that I think of it to get to see any of it. Anyone know how the tickets are distributed? and how how costly they are from previous games?
Nice link Paddy, just registered my interest for athletics, track cycling, weightlifting and judo. It would be pretty class to go to.
Dunno how accurate this is Eamonn but according to YahooAnswers:
“As a comparison, in Beijing, tickets for the Opening Ceremony ranged from $30 to $750. Also, tickets for the men’s basketball medal games ranged between $45 and $150. Earlier game tickets could be had for as little as $7.50. Some events had tickets for as little as $4.50″
I’d imagine weightlifting and judo aren’t particularly busy. Same for gymnastics. Getting a ticket to the men’s 100m final might be a tad different though. Same for BB and something like short distance swimming maybe?
Not sure on the price or ticket allocation but ye it would be pretty cool to go.Never had an interest in watching weightlifting at the Olympics before but after covering the lifts in the gym I’m looking forward to watchin it. Would love to see Usain Bolt break some of his own records as well. Think I would give the synchronised swimming as miss though!
I went to Athens in 2004 and it was a wonderful experience, can’t recommend it enough.
I watched basketball, wrestling (freestyle and greco-roman), diving, athletics and I think one or two others.
I’d highly recommend going to the Olympics to anyone.

Yeah I hadn’t really thought about it until now but I think I’m gonna have to go see it. Yeah weightlifting can’t be all that popular. Would be impressive seeing <48kg women absolutley destroying your PR's and heavy weight men doing 200kg snatches.
I was in Sydney for the 2000 Games. Great buzz all over the city! Will definitely be trying to get to London
I was listening to the Radio and someone from the Games was on saying that for the more popularly attended events they were still going to keep the prices on a par with the other events, but that it would just be alot harder to win the ballot and actually get a ticket.
Registered interest in judo, wrestling, weightlifting, gymnastics and athletics… I’d say there’s a fair chance of getting tickets for the first three anyway…
