  1. found this WOD on the tube from crossfit corando.

100 thrusters for time with 3 burpees and 3 knees to elbows at the top of each minute with the rest of the minute to do as many thrusters as possible.

here’s the video…it’s a bit slow motion meets over dramatic but it looks like a tough WOD

  3. Hey everyone,

I sent on a email to Pullum sports about the lifting shoes:

    Hi guys,

I am involved in the business end of Crossfit Ireland.

I am sending you a quick email about weightlifting shoes. The Adidas ones seem to be the ones the lads in the gym have a preference for. A few guys from our gym have ordered off you and I was wondering is there an option for bulk buying to save a few quid for the lads and lassies.

Say we were to order 7 pairs? What would we be looking at price wise, I did a search on the site and one pair in Euro’s changed from £100 to €145. Even with the exchange rate, the £100 works out at about €108 on XE.com

If you could get back to me I would really appreciate it,

    Thanks,

Hopefully they will get back to me asap,

  4. I’m just wondering out fish oils, i’ve seen people mention about buying them online. Is the seven seas stuff from tesco not any good?

  5. Tom you can count me in for a pair(9.5 UK) if they come back in the positive. And does anyone know were to get almond flour I tried the usaul health stores but no joy.Cheers

  6. Hey Tom

Im pretty sure you can avoid paying the merchants (pullum sports) conversion rate by choosing to pay in sterling with your visa card. It is then visa who does the conversion not pullum sports. The visa rate wouldnt be far off what you see on xe.com
    Its called dynamic currency conversion

    What is dynamic currency conversion?
Some merchants now offer to convert your purchase into your home currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion and means the merchant—and not Visa—is converting the currency. As a consumer, you may value knowing the exact price in your home currency at the point of sale, but you should be aware that you may be charged extra for this service by the merchant. Visa requires that you be provided a meaningful choice at the point of sale and you have the right to buy your purchase in the local currency to avoid any additional fees the merchant may assess. Visa also requires merchants offering this service inform you of the exchange rate, including any applicable commission being charged.

Bottom line. Order them in sterling and they will cost you roughly €110

  7. Hey eve,

Will has bottles of Carlson Fish Oil up in the gym. Carlsons come very highly recommended.

The thing about Fish Oil is that it can go off very easily and quickly. Once it does, it’s actually more harmful than it’s worth.

I’d wager that cheaper ones aren’t worth it, as the EPA/DHA content is probably pretty low so you’d have to take a lot to get a benefit from them. Also, Plastic isn’t impermeable, so the air it’s exposed to begins to effect them pretty quickly.

  8. Ok so I can buy some next time i’m in the gym. How much is it? How much should I be taking a day?

  9. Hey Eve,

It’s €25 a bottle. You start off with 5ml a day, with food. After a few days, go up to 10ml a day. You’re body takes a while to get used to processing it, so very gradually increase the dosage.

  10. Double D, almond flour is simply ground almonds, they’re available in Tesco and nearly everywhere. I had the same concern until I researched what it was exactly.

I bought some recently enough for making a quiche base. Bit weird to work with but it’s tasty stuff!

  11. I agree with Pat, quiche is darn tasty! Will is just jealous as he doesn’t know how to make it! :)

  12. I don’t remember ever claiming to be a real man Will? All I remember claiming was that I was a better person than you.

  13. Bobby thanks for that and by the way your man credentials are in no way questionable.

  14. That’s a deep burn Bobby.

  15. http://www.myus.com/ (wfs)

Just came across this website, they basically provide an address in the states should you want to order something from a US site but the site doesn’t ship internationally. Their postage also works out a whole lot cheaper than most websites as well, a good one to add to the ol bookmarks!

  16. Cheers Pix. Nice numbers these days dude. I knew I only had a limited amount of “Calling Pixie a fat bastard” time. Damn.

  17. Hey Bobby, you’re always allowed to call me a fat bastard no matter what! :) Yeah happy enough with WOD times lately but a whole bunch of the strength stuff and gymnastics stuff needs serious work for the next few months. As for the weight, work in progress, once the 80kg barrier is broken then I’ll be starting the MMA, then you can be right back to kicking my ass at something! :)

  18. I should point out that Stephen is the only person I’ve seen have real trouble stabilising the weight, then hitting a perfect OHS.

He’s more in the tank there as well, easily 95Kg, probably even 100Kg.
