  1. Double D says:

Lads what would the rules for max rep push ups be?plan to do this at home today.cheers

  2. Colm O'K says:

just on yesterdays homeopathic theme, anyone read “bad science” by ben goldacre. He tears homeopathy and particularly gillian mckeith a new one

  3. Will Walshe says:

Does anyone have a copy of Fear and Loathing knocking about? I can’t find mine, and we need to force Tom to read it before his trip to Vegas. I feel it will be infinitely more useful than these silly Lonely Planet books.

Derrick – Best rule I can think of for solo max rep pushups is “video them”.

  4. Paddy says:

Only if he has intentions of doing shed loads of narcotics in the desert or maybe get inspiration to write a few songs. Maybe he could chronicle his adventures in the next Crossfit Ireland journal. All I have is the DVD by the way.

  5. Double D says:

Will,I will try and video .Is it ok to hold the plank position at the top and keep grinding them out or go till a pause then stop?

  6. Will Walshe says:

I’d either go continuosly, or do max in 1 minute. If you allow resting you could be there for 10 minutes, which doesn’t really tell us anything useful. Other than that you’re good at holding a plank.

  7. Dale says:

guys training wise i can make it down today for the ess class or should i just leave it and come down tomorrow instead ?

  8. Will Walshe says:

Come on down if you like Dale, I’ll try and fit you in somewhere.

  9. Eamonn says:

Recommended reading today is Tom’s training log. It’s on!

  10. Dale says:

cheers will ill drop down then

  11. Daniel says:

Is it worth while or just a waste

Any help is accepted and ill try take it on board

    Thanks

  12. Robbie says:

    Let the Hugening begin!

  13. Ed says:

So this hugening then, should ya’ll make some bets over who can gain the most weight between now and christmas? I’d say it’d be a good one for you competitive types. The winner should be the person who has the highest % of initial BW gained. Make the prize a massive cheesecake (or protein cheesecake), a gallon of milk, two litres of olive oil and a stick of butter.

I was thinking about hugening just for the novelty of seeing 200lbs on the scales (I’m not american, just taking the nearest roundest number) although I probably couldn’t be arsed eating that much food.

  14. Ed says:

Although who needs squats and milk when you have “anoconda” and cluster reps?!

  15. Eamonn says:

There will be plenty of kipping bench’s with forced negative reps to get the chest swole. I’ll have to get up to speed on “anoconda” and cluster reps.

  16. Bobby says:

The percentage of BW is a good metric actually, I can get behind that. The prize however, I cannot.

Have a whopper pain in my abzz following my trip to the gym this morning, nothing to do with any ab work but rather because I hit myself in the stomach so many times doing my rowing. Not cool.

  17. garv says:

could ya not just measure body fat % at the start and finish?

the winner being the one who put on the most LEAN body mass

  18. Bobby says:

Good point garv. We’d need to get them caliper tested by the same guy though so I dunno if that’s possible.

  19. Colm says:

  20. Eamonn says:

Were the 400m runs the two laps around or on a straight? Getting close to my record ya bastards.

  21. Colm says:

Twice around the gym Eamonn, and they didn’t dodge the metcon, so there! :P

  22. Ruairi says:

I’m kind of sorry now I can’t watch myself ditch that 90kg overhead squat backwards over my head off the platform.

  23. Pixie says:

I think Ruairi and not Tony should have to replace the boards in the gym considering he’s the only one who breaks them!
