The Full Eamonn Clean & Jerk Video above. What I love most about this, is how much of a struggle it was for him. Without the struggle, we’d never really appreciate how much went into making that lift. He’d done a tough workout an hour earlier, and was feeling fluey to begin with. To miss a few cleans, then missed a few jerks and stay on the platform is a testament to the dedication he had. If you look at the periphery of the video, not just the lifters, you can see and hear a constant stream of coaching and encouragement from all those around both lifters. The sheer joy of Peanuts (not Pixie), when he hits that lift is phenomenal. And a beautiful little pirouette over the bar at the end too!

What’s the RX’d weight for the sit-ups? This one looks DOMS-friendly in that it doesn’t involve legs.
Great Video. Fair play to you Peanuts. Thats some determination!!
woo! funny how the mind plays tricks I was sure I had two failed jerk attempts before the successful lift. It wasn’t looking good after two failed cleans!
When I left the platform Will thought I was calling it a day. No way! MORE CHALK is all I needed
The flu has got his full claws into me now sick day for me today. Only awake now because I fell asleep at about 8 oclock last night.
Ruairi – 10Kg
Eamonn – Once again, well done.
Louise – nice photos from the Invitational. You’ll have to be the new official photographer!!
Everyone else – check out Louise’s flickr account in yesterday’s comments.
Well done Eamonn, so chuffed for you.
Get better soon and no running that 1/2 marathon if you are feeling bad, there will be plenty more.
Take care.
Just watch the video of Eamonn well done mate great work there
Cant watch the vid in work but will have a goose at it later at home but fair play Eamo for grinding it out. Some great work on WOD 3 there as well on saturday.
Eamonn,
Well done, Highlight of the day for sure.
Highlight of the day for sure, you can see how delighted he is when he gets it. Harcore \m/
I see Vibrams getting a mention in this irish times article about the merits of barefoot running. Some of ye wear them so might be of interest.

Vibrams? Ye but they are about as cool lookin as Colm’s socks.
I second the call for Louise as CFI official photographer. Some great shots there!!
Louise those photos are class. I love the ones from the C&J event, I think the pause at the top allowed for some really good shots. Definitely the official photographer!
Thanks for a fantastic weekend , brilliantly organised and great atmosphere, me and Jen really enjoyed ourselves. Im still suffering in my shoulders and legs right now!! Great photos from Louise and blog from Davie and if anyone else has any pics they would be greatly appreciated on scottj@ctt.uk.com.

Dale, mine are a size 9ish I think, but they’re an older style. But you’re free to try them for a session.
Paddy, thank you. The vibrams and the socks are cool. I’m glad you appreciate them.
Scott, just approved your post there. Glad you enjoyed it mate, and hopefully you can make it over for the next one (Feb 6th). I’m already cooking up some new challenges for people.
Colm wonder will there be many more international competitors at the next event? Did I hear someone say Mikko Salo?
Would love to see more entrants at the next invitational with a background in other sports such as rugby & soccer etc to see how they get on.
Definately do my best to get over for the next one Colm, it will be great to see what sadistic workouts you can come up with next time, that 3rd workout on Saturday was the most pain I have suffered in a long time.
Louise,
