  1. missing another day…sp pissed off that i’m working this week. see ya’ll wednesday.

oi coaches, can we do max height boxjumps sometime soon?…gotta love them

  2. Yeah, when I got to the bit about the beer fridge I forgot everything that went before. I mean…

    …dude.

  3. If I am on time do I get a beer?If I tidy up do I get a beer?Or a PR=beer? All important questions as I am sure you will all agree.

  4. I don’t think it’d be ethical to have a beer fridge in a gym that 99.5% of the members drive to.

  5. I don’t think it’d be ethical to have your face in a gym that 99.5% of the members drive to.

  6. Ah yes. Gone are the days when we used to have actual discussions in the comments section. Frankly I’m happier this way.

  7. Sadly, this kind of insidious devolution seems to be endemic with internet forums.

As soon as people start posting lolcats on here I’m leaving.

    I’ll get my coat.

  9. I don’t know if I’ve condemmed us all but you can now post comments on the Athlete Profile Pages.

CrossFit Ireland Invitational – Better than the games?

  10. Colm – If I may be so bold as to quote the Lord Beaumont of Whitley – “We are not talking about market places in the middle of Roman towns; we are talking about the English word “forum”, the plural of which is “forums”.”

  11. after years of learning latin in school, i will be damned if i start putting “s” onto a latin word to make it plural! Also, i think fora sounds better than forums which sounds a little clumsy

    romani ite domum!!

  12. Can’t make it down this evening fecking work , Colm & Will i am going to enter the invitational for the hell of it

  13. Dee–I know with absolute certainty that when the revolution comes, it will be manifest by the creators of that website.

So for some perspective, Crossfit801 had some really big classes and a lot of people wandering in late. They laid the tardy smack down as well (although not as bad as this guy) and I was grateful for it. It really was distracting and made the WODs start 10-20 minutes late.

But the guy said help yourself to my beer and then is surprised/upset when the fridge gets emptied out? Has he ever been drinking with other people before?

  14. Taking a more serious line on his posts-

I basically agree that people should turn up on time and clean up after themselves. We’re all about having fun in the box, after all (right Kyle?).

But there’s a way to bring issues up which doesn’t involve a ranting post on your website complete with exclamation marks and capitals.

A polite reminder would be enough for most people (and you could go from there), but reading the riot act … probably best reserved only for family members, wayward children or socialists of any type as opposed to adults paying his wages and on whose good word-of-mouth his depending on to grow his business.

The beer thing I could come down on either way. It sucks that people are abusing his free beer honour-system, but I guess the type of person who will drink beer right there in the gym after (or before, presumably) a workout is not someone worried much about rules, I suspect. That said, he is facilitating general awesomeness by having free beer in his gym so I will go with him on that one and say he is right to be pissed at the freeloaders.

  16. Tony that is an outrageous time. I should be back up tomorrow night, had a busy week there so just didn’t have the time or inclination to train. Nice to have a break from both training and the zone though, should be more focused upon my return. Work is pretty busy lately so I may have to do the 8pm class? Is that an essentials class on a Wednesday or not?

  17. Bobby,

8pm is open to all. Be a good idea to have you at that, it’s been far too friendly and abuse free of late.

    Tony,
Once again I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that you were shooting for the gym record. I was stunned at your Cyborgness and thought you’d get the top time anyway.
    My bad!

  18. Hey Bobby,
Thanks, was wondering where you’ve been, theories included (a)in jail, (b)at a horse fair, (c) stealing spare parts for your car, (d)destroying your liver and (e)gettin a new caravan with matchin scatter cushions, heard you’re partial to periwinkle blue? “It’s a good deal boss – take it”
Anyway good to see you’re alive.

    Colm,
Not to worry, there’s always next time(next time I’ll have a game plan)
