Just back from this and saw Amy out the back teaching her friend how to snatch with the yard brush!!!
Thanks to Harry for coming out and coaching, and all you for making the day fun. Man, the abuse from Team Douche was unreal!
How’d everyone enjoy it?
Bloody useful day, Harry knows his stuff. Useful to know that my start position for both lifts sucks and my jerk is equally dodgy. Gotta fix those. Then I gotta double my front-squat and I’ll be sorted! Cheers for organising it .
Great craic, couldn’t stay with team douche so defected to team chalk. Just couldn’t handle the abuse , it hurts soooooooo bad!
Having a beer now still in my own sweat……nice!
Bobby/Pixie your deformation of my van has not gone unnoticed….there will be revenge
Ya I thought it was great. Olympic lifting is the win! Harry pointed out a few corrections I need to make on the lifts as well as from Will and your good self.
Team Douche aren’t getting any of my chalk from now on btw, douchebags.
Great day, very useful. Good laugh too as always. Cheers lads
Here’s one thing I don’t understand: what the hell is a yard brush?
Kyle- a broom for outdoors, no? Harder bristles and whatnot.
Good seminar today, a nice overview. I had to leave before the clean segment to head off to Donegal. Did you guys get an opportunity to put some weight on the bar and go for some max attempts in the end?
Hopefully we can get a few people competing sometime? Although I’m away next month for the first opportunity, an will miss an opportunity to put a hole in someone else’s floor.
The Tony Robbins clip is long but worth watching.
Didn’t get to put any weight on the bar while I was there anyhoo. Dunno if maxing out would’ve been a good idea with borderline sunstroke!
Yep I enjoyed the whole experience and felt it was worthwhile and Harry was a really amiable guy who was really helpful when I had any questions, so cheers Harry!
As for Team Douche, myself and Bobby are very proud of our title and look upon the turncoat that is Tony with the combined duel emotions of scorn and pity!
Just came across a handy wee document on the CrossFit KOP website (http://www.crossfitkop.com/learningCenter.aspx) in the side menu there’s a document available for download called Away From Home WOD’s and it’s just a nice little list of exercises that don’t require any equipment, handy for the days you can’t make it to the gym or are on holidays. I do like the introduction to CrossFit they have on their front page as well.
Hey all,
Had a great day. Really enjoyed it. We had a great aul group down the end of the car park
Harry was great and I’ve definitely got more confident that I am not such a complete disater as I thought it was. Fun day, as usual.
Looking forward to trying the techniques out again.
ps Deirdre – Keep in touch.
Maybe next year Ruairi when I double my front squat like Ed.
Well done on yesterday’s workshop guys. Really enjoyable day, well worthwhile and great value I felt.
Harry was superb – really pleasant guy to deal with, the whole thing was very professional and well presented and I don’t think I heard him pass a single negative comment during the whole day. He told people what they were doing well, where they needed to improve and how, and managed to do it all in very simple terms but without seeming in any way patronising or as though he was dumbing things down.
Well done to Colm and the guys for bringing him in. Looking forward to the next one lads!
well done all and cheers to will&cplm&harry.
accidentally learned the overhead squat which i was maxing at 12.5kg during the week too. informative, well presented and a good laugh.
i wont touch ur barbell anymre bobby
hey all.. just thought this was worth a look .. sure some of ye may have seen it already but i think its worth posting.. officially some of the most scenic WOD’s ever…. http://www.cowboycrossfit.typepad.com/ (wfs)
