15 Double Unders
Unlike the Invitational, you cannot do split jerks on Amy anymore. Post times to comments. Compare to May 9th
2009 CrossFit Games Steroid Testing
Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid – CF Games 2008
Drugstore Athlete – Gladwell.com

I’m working tomorrow and Tuesday so I probably won’t have a chance to make it down to the gym so I did Annie today:
50-40-30-20-10
Double-Unders
Sit Ups
9:29
Bit slow on the double unders, my timing was just off today and couldn’t string them together.
Any particular reason we can’t split jerk? Not that I can do a split jerk particularly well (or a push jerk for that matter) so I’m not up in arms about this, just curious.
On the subject of old man week actually, how’s the back Tony?
Bobby,
No particular reason, I just decided it should be push jerk only, rather than anyway overhead.
Only done a push jerk think no idea what the difference is i can guess it but ill find out later , Colm how was transformers ? Also ill have your 25kg back today with the data on the drop report
Hey Bobby,
It’s a lot better than Saturday when i couldn’t stand up straight without pain everywhere. I’ll be out of action regards lifting anything for a few weeks I’d say but hopefully can do other things later this week. The modern wonders of Difene and Valium!
Damn I would have liked to have repeated this one but I’ll have to give it a miss with my dodgey shoulder. I just failed to do within in the time with 50kg before. I reckon I’d have a good chance of going rx within the time now though 60kg is still pretty damn heavy.
Tony i have that number for the Physical Therapist you down at lunch today or you want me to post it here ?
Dale,
I’ll try and pop in at lunch time for a few mins. If i don’t make it can you leave it with Will or Colm and I’ll get it from them.
Thanks
On todays links.
Well everyone in the NFL is probably drugged to the gills so it’s no surprise John Welbourn is on the sauce but with qualifiers this year he’s not competiting.
I do however wonder which clean and wholesome crossfitters are shitting a brick right now who are competiting at the games this year. If the testing is thorough I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few caught out as from what I’ve read on the net proformance enhancing drugs are alot more rampant in professional sports than anyone realises.
It does however go against everything that crossfit stands for so it would definatly be a black eye on the community if people are caught out.
Thoughts?

Tony, seems like 20-rep recover squats might be a good one for you: http://www.strengthmill.net/forum/showthread.php?t=700 (WFS)
Squats or Romanian DLs would be the exercises I’d use, but Will would know better looking at you.
That workout looks evil, damn old man Tony….
Colm I don’t know your personal mail so I just shot off my injury mail to the info@crossfit mailbox.
Eamonn,
Mail replied to.
Marianne,
I’m afraid it’s once again me who’s mean and evil, as I mandated to Tony that Amy should be done this week. Amy is a viscous, wretched bitch (of a workout) but as we all know, banging out Amy separates the men from the boys
On drugs in sport – since watching Bigger Faster Stronger I’ve mixed feelings on drugs. My original ideal, that it is an unfair advantage, has too many holes in it to mention.
A friend of mine Clive once simply summed it up as “They’re against the rules, so it’s cheating” which is the simplest explanation. It doesn’t cover why they’re against the rules, it simply accepts the ruleset as is.
My worry about the games is the no-tolerance policy being adopted, versus the upper-limit policy of WADA. There are certain food stuffs and supplements which can raise the markers of steroid use, and if they’re taking a no-tolerance approach, there can be false-positives (Particularly looking at Josh Everett’s food/supplementation blog)
You really are mean, mean, mean Colm
Not feeling the healthiest today and its not due to my attempt to eat 5 snicker bars yesterday (only managed one, Tom was very disappointed) so will do my best to get through Amy tonight.
Difene AND Valium? Nice combo, a few difenes usually have me running around like when I was 20
so I can’t imagine what the addition of Valium would do.
Bobby,
I was in a heap on Saturday and the Doc said Valium. Now they’re only baby ones but they do relax you. Everything is very mellow and peaceful. Team old man does not condone the use of drugs!!!
Unless your trick hip or back is playing up obviously…
Colm
Megan and I (Crossfit Providence) are excited to visit next week, only Crossfitters would spend the first night of their honeymoon at a gym! Is there any particular class which would be better for us to come to than the others?
Thanks

…awaits arrogance of youth comment from Tony
