Workout of the Day:
Back Squat
5-5-5-5-5
Post loads to comments.
In a workout where you’re doing 5 sets of 5 repetitions, all the sets should ideally be equal, or very close in weight. Doing a set of 50Kg, then 60Kg, then 70Kg, up to 90Kg is not the same as 5 sets of 5 at 90Kg or close to it.
Previous Back Squats:
April 10th (3RM)
March 23rd (1RM)
February 18th (3RM)
Wednesday was International CrossFit Day at the Gym, Ruth, from CrossFit South Bay, Southern California, was joined by Scott (not Matt) and Cherie from CrossFit Sunshine Coast, Australia, for a “Fight Gone Better!”

interesting note there coach/es.
Is a 20kg range acceptable ie from 80-100, or would that still be too big?
Also what’s the reasoning behind it? Obviously if you add the totals 5×90 is way more total kg lifted than “lighter-to-heavier” so you have done way more(funnily enough i was wondering about this myself before). But does that mean that the lighter-to-heavier exercises was without benefit, or a fraction of the benefit? Or is it just crossfit being plain old mean about it and making you work harder? Just curious because looking back at my own records i have about a 20kg range from first to last and am wondering if i have been misplacing my efforts.
Hi Guys,
I will be down tonight but I may be late, depends what time I can get home from work.
Hope to see you later.
