  1. Look at that rowing technique;

Bent arms with bent legs and check out that beautiful lumbar curve. Oh yes, not only was I whipped by an old man, I can’t row to save my life.

In a funny note, I meant to put this in my workout log but I forgot. I was doing Cindy in Deer Park last night, it was still bright and there were loads of people about. I was at about round 7 or so (proper sweat time) when two girls walked by; I smiled and said/grunted hello. One of them smiled back and said hi, the other just giggled and said “Haha that guy. He’s just trying to impress us”

I was delighted with myself, I wasn’t trying to impress them at all but I had thought that I looked like some form of epileptic pensioner flapping about on the ground. Clearly not. I looked “impressive”. How I do not know.

  2. Bobby,
I may be old(er) but as John Wayne said “If you don’t respect your elders, then I’ll just have to teach you to respect your betters.” …….ouch!

  3. So has anyone got the heart to tell Bobby that there’s a difference between looking impressive and looking like you’re trying to look impressive?

    Whoops.

  4. I didn’t even have the heart to tell myself that William. Missing that 14th round was tough enough without it.

  5. Hi guys,

Got details in work today of the Focus Ireland Triathlon on 2nd August, if anyone is interested in participating? It can be done individually or as a team. Get a few Crossfit teams going ?

It’s a 750m swim, 20km lapped cycle and 5km run. I can bring the posters this evening.

  6. Hi guys,

Not sure if my last mail got caught up in spam ! But anyways, got details in work today of the Focus Ireland Triathlon on 2nd August. You can compete individually or as a team. Get a few Crossfit teams together ?

It’s 750m Swim, 20km lapped cycle and 5km run all around Grand Canal and the Quays. I can bring the posters tonight.

  7. First of all, i’d just like to say how glad i am (like so many other people) to see Scotty back in crossfit! Bobby, if you’re doing a long strenuous workout like that in a public place then it seems like some of it is for your ego. If you got the pretty girl’s attention fair play but come on!

    Paul
    -looking forward to Saturday’s workout

  8. Sue,
Your comment prompted me to look in the spam filter. Because you put your web site down as the focus triathlon, the filter caught it.

I think we should definitely do this. I’m up for it.

    Bobby, Paul,
Everything we do is for ego :D

  9. Oh wait, I didn’t realise that the date was 2nd of August. I reckon I could get my swimming to a reasonable level by then. Count me kind of in.

  10. Do it soon Colm, the fatness catches up to you like an Express Train. Suddenly you’re all out of shape and working out in the park “trying” to impress girls. Bah. I was the man back in the day.

  11. Interesting idea Sue. I’ll think about whether I have the mental stamina for one. I would happily do the cycling in the Team as I’m going to be training for a 150km cycle at the end of August.

  12. Colm / Will

Is it possible to set up a section in Nutrition where people can upload zone/paleo recipes? Break down into different block meals

If not on the man site, then maybe a section where we have the training forum. I know this was brought up in January and a lot of people had great recipes to offer. If we had somewhere that poeple could upload and access recipes at will it would be a great resource.

  13. Yeah sounds like an idea Robbie. I’ll look into the best way.

    Anyway, scores:
    Brian: 30-40-40-40; 76
