  1. And the cat’s in cradle.
    And the silver spoon.
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
    When you coming home, Colm?
    I don’t know when…

  2. So I’ve noticed a pattern. Generally whenever I’m flying back to the states I tend to pick a pretty brutal WOD. Usually this is because I’m going to be taking the next several days off and I can afford to be more sore and/or generally wrecked than usual.

This means, however, that I spend the next day sitting in a very still position on an airplane for 14-16 hours. I think I can feel the DOMS setting in as I sit there. And yet, I was still struck with the same thought for today. What’s a good WOD to end on? GI Jane? 150 burpees for time? Murph? But then I thought, why do I keep doing this? It’s just plain stupid. Then I got an idea…

  3. I was driving for about an hour and half last sunday after doing the “the kyle” and it was incredibly unpleasant. My lower back was starting to cease up and i had to worm around in the seat while driving so i would have the mobility to get out of the car when i stopped. I couldn’t imagine putting up with that for that long a flight. Why you would purposely aim to do this..you sick individual..

  4. I may have been inspired by Glassman’s description of the very first Crossfit Cert where at the end of the weekend the scooped the two participants up with a spatula and poured them into the plane home. Oh, and I’m not that bright, in general.

  5. slight variation in that i did BW backsquats (75kg) and burpees in 7.44

Also, kyle, did you by any chance play flag football in phoenix park last year?

  6. Sorry I dont get this workout,

21 Deadlifts at 100kg, 21 burpees, and on it goes……??

I max out at 120kg deadlift I think, this will not be done as rx’d. Tonight will mark my goal of 4 a week for the month of january and no beers,

  7. Tom, the workout would be

    21 deadlifts, 21 burpees, 15 deadlifts, 15 burpees, 9 deadlifts, 9 burpees.

Think of it as Diane subbing burpees for handstand push-ups.

I’m working tonight, just did a tabata mash-up instead. So good luck guys… And see you later in the year Kyle (hopefully!).

  8. Colm–no never played flag football here. In fact, I haven’t played it since my high school days.

  9. Yeh I thought it was that, but at 100kg’s…… Nope,

Wonder what is a good weight to use for me, think my one rep max dead is 120 just before I round out,

  10. Tom, this workout is meant to be heavy. It’s actually one of the CF games WOD’s so if you visit the games site you can see some of the monsters doing it.

  11. i see. Just looking at the video there you reminded me of a guy i played against last year. Oh well, probably just as well it wasnt you i wasnt exactly over-flowing with corinthian spirit when i played him.

  12. Hey, working late tonight so wont be down in the gym tonight.

Best of luck Kyle in all your endeavours. It was always a pleasure, never a chore. Hope to see you again soon.

You’re welcome back at PISTOLS party house anytime.

  13. Safe home, The Kyle. You’d better keep posting here or we may have to track you down!

  14. Safe home Kyle, I know this is a bit impersonal but I couldn’t make it out to the gym!

Let me know how the rock climbing goes, we’ll have to get a few routes in the next time you’re over!
