Quiet today…
Quiet yesterday…
So then can I ask non Crossfit question? I have recently been introduced to the Dubliners and am wondering what the general Irish consensus is. Are they undeniably cool folk singers (Irish version of Johnny Cash) or fiddle music that only tourists listen to at Johnny Fox’s?
I’m not very knowledgeable about trad music, but I think the general consensus would be that The Dubliners are a proper band that most people respect, tourists or otherwise, even if you don’t particularly like that kind of thing.
On the other hand, someone like The Wolfe Tones would be considered cheesey.
No problem with the dubliners, they were a spectacular bunch of creatures. As for the wolfe tones: hmmm, I instantly dislike most noises I hear coming out of either carroll’s or the oliver st. john gogarty so can’t really give a fair opinion there. Overall though, it depends on how drunk you are.
Of course, Clannad for the true Celtic Soul

Celtic mysticism Colm. Jesus man!
Bobby – 40Kg OHS!, 7:26
Damien – 25Kg OHS, 11:09
Jeff – 20Kg OHS; 7:45
Kyle – 35Kg SB; 7:33
Rob – 30Kg SB; 8:29
Scott – 30Kg SB(1); 11:35
Sue – 9.5Kg OHS; 8:55
Tom – 25Kg OHS; 9:05
Eoin – 30Kg OHS; 11:30
Paul – 45Kg SB; 8:09
I must say, Rob has a mean OHS, and outrageously good squat form in general.
Achieved one of my 2009 goals tonight (0.5xBW OHS), and yes I do realise its the 12th of January. I reckon I’ll nail bodyweight by the end of the year. If I had Rob’s form I’d nail it much quicker though!
Scott’s last set of pullups……. Brilliant,
one minute 20 seconds behind my nemesis Jeff….. Gutted!!
Me and Jeff discussed this last night, a Tom and Jeff fitness off at the start of may, if anyone has a suggestion I would love to hear it, nothing like competition to keep it interesting
A fitness-off?
Hmmm, I think there should be three events: one chosen by Tom, one chosen by Jeff, and a randomly selected third event composed enitrely of things neither of you has ever done before, selected by a comitee of your peers.
This way the victor can stand over his defeated foe and proudly proclaim “I do your stuff almost as well as you do, you don’t do my stuff very well at all, and I do stuff that neither of us does better than either of us”.
Oh, and neither of you get to find out what the other guy’s choice was until the day.
That is spectacular work out of Will, I like it
