  1. Man, there is a connection with dental health and Syndrome X? I hope this isn’t’ taken the wrong way and I really don’t mean to make light of serious diseases but since I’ve been introduced to the idea of Paleo and low carb eating it seems like study after study are linking things to Syndrome X. It feels to me like cancer back in the 80’s when study after study were showing possible causes of cancer. Some seem to have turned out to be true (smoking; asbestos) while some are being questioned (meat and colon cancer). I don’t really know what the point of this rambling is; I guess I’m just struck by the pattern.

  2. Hmmm, interesting.

Isn’t Eva T some sort of dental person? I think she had an article in the performance menu a few years back about how beneficial flossing was to your overall health and fitness. Dan John is a big fan of it too.

Tis the only sensible way to clean below the gumline, which is generally a hotbed of disease and nastiness in people who don’t floss.

Be interested to hear more about the Syndrome X relationship though, are we looking at causation or correlation here? I’ve no problem believing that eating too much sugar and starch leads to poor oral health, but a relationship in the opposite direction would be a little surprising.

  3. So with all of the discussion around music selection I think that the next round of outsourcing should be a day’s or week’s worth of music. Except for me, of course.

  4. I think I’d be counted out of such an outsourcing Kyle. Though I did just get Kenny Roger’s Greatest Hits……..

  5. Damn iherb is expensive for shipping. I’m in need of fish oil. If anyone wants to get in on an order let me know please.

  6. What can I say Big Shane, I’m a bad man! Looking forward to this WOD tonight actually, missed the one last night as I’m up to my ears in college assignments at the moment.

Colm, I’ll jump in on that iherb order with you, gonna get some of this magic magnesium stuff Will was telling me about!

  7. Been a while since I’ve done a proper metcon and i felt it today. 21 minutes roughly.

  8. I’ll go out on a limb and say that this WOD isn’t too bad. It’ll all hinge on your 400m performance I reckon. Your back is going to be completely shot by round 3 so the runs will turn to pants.

This prediction was brought to you by an actively procrastinating Bobby O’Leary

  9. I did this WOD months ago with Dan. If running is your weakpoint then it might be a little challenging, but since then everyone’s deadlifting has vastly improved, so I predict this one won’t be half bad.

The power snatches will be trickier.

Colm and I did max weight overhead squats this morning.

  10. As the good Ruairi said it was the runs that killed me, didn’t find the deadlifts or sit ups bad at all, but the runs killed my time.

  11. Yesterday’s overhead squats, from what I remember

    1-1-1-1-1-1-1

    60, 65, 70, 75 (fail, didn’t break paralell), 77.5, 82.5, 85(F), 85(F)

  12. Kyle – Linda
    12/14, 10/13, 8/13, 8(failed on 9th)/10, 7/8
