  1. Pixie, the official answer is I thought that picture best presented the spirit of the evening and also showed some of my most favourite clients in a good light – fun, friendly, mischevious people.

The real answer is that was the first photo I came across that I could use, and said F it.

Now, I should really stop dezoning on Sundays, as it leads to crappy insomnia.

  2. Well in my professional medical opinion, my toe is broken. Maybe a strength cycle for the next few weeks? It seems easier and less prone to overdoing it then trying to do the WOD’s with substitutions.

  3. I dunno, accidently rocking forward onto a broken toe during a heavy squat would be on my list of Things I Would Prefer to Avoid.

Looks like it’s bench pressing and preacher kurlz for the next six weeks dude.

  4. Let’s look at things The Kyle can do

Overhead Pressing, weighted pull ups, weighted dips, benching, l-seats, deadlifts.

That’s just off the top of my head. I’m reticent to add any dynamic/olympic lifts since if you’re rolling forward that could put a lot of pressure on the toe.

You could always take an evening opportunity to go swimming?

  5. Should shoot Ben (Crossfit Tyneside) a message on funckey, he was training with an entire broken foot for a while.

  6. Will, I’m not sure how I feel about your thought-out and reasoned advice because it keeps taking away all of my fun. Although…I could get myself as pair of gloves with the fingers cut out, chalk them up and it’s a month of mother f@$%& arms days!!!!

TBH I’m torn. The fact that I’m still walking around and not trying to put this in a cast or anything made me think that a program in the spirit of the CFJ ‘Working Wounded’ article wasn’t necessary and a SS approach of slow, heel-driven lifts would be ok, maybe followed with some tabata’s. Still there’s something to be said for prudence, so maybe I should put together some gymnastics strenght work for a few weeks?

  7. Yep Helzy,

We’re massively popular with the spambots of the world. Comes with the territory of having freshly updated sites unfortunately.

  8. Eoin, I like the fact you booked yourself in. That moves you up the rankings in my books :)

BTW Shane 1.0 is working on a booking system so classes won’t be overflowing with people one hour then dead the next.
