  1. Well having survived the CERN Hadron collider switch on, just thought I say hello and bring the news Lance Armstrong is coming out of retirement (“Big Shane will go mad”) to try to win the Tour de France again.

  2. Hoorah life on earth hasn’t ended and we haven’t been sucked into a black hole, that’s always good news I find! That’s cool bout Lance Armstrong, pretty amazing dude!

Must go back and rad yesterday’s thread, there seemed to be a good discussion going on but I didn’t get a chance to read it.

Looking forward to the ol deadlifts tonight, tis been a while! :)

  3. I was hoping the collider could at least have taken out a chunk of Europe. I think we could have stood to lose the Germans, French, Belgians etc.

    Deadlifts last night (resting today):

    120-130-140-145-145

Was starting to ‘hitch’ on the 145s so I called it a night. I’m paranoid about getting injured before the cert this weekend.

  4. That’s a pretty bitchin’ overhead squat Ames. The Serious Face is well developed too.

Re CERN and the planet not exploding: Physicists everywhere climb out from behind desks and say “I told you so”

  5. Hey guys i just wanted to say thanks for making me feel welcome back yesterday after my long absence.

    Missed all you cross fitters

Also thanks for the vid links Colm

  6. Wahey the Dan is back! Welcome back dude, must catch up with ya soon!

By the way this is Shane O, the Pixie thing is a long and sordid tale!

  7. Hi guys,

I’m in college in UCD this year (and the last three years but never mind) and I’m trying to get some crossfit done in Crunch UCD. I’ve tried this before with limited success but I’m wondering if anyone can help with any ideas for WODs that could easily be performed in crunch.

Really I have access to a barbell, a pull up bar, dumbbells and my fine self. There is a rowing machine as well but this is located upstairs away from the free weights and I can’t hog the bar if I’m upstairs rowing. Fran is an obvious example as is Diane or Cindy or Grace. I’m going to follow the MEBB program for a while as it has more of the heavy lifting that I want to do. Plus I want to try and keep my metcons strength based as well.

Sorry for the long post but any help would be greatly appreciated!

    See you all saturday

  8. Ahh Big Shane, always able to start a good discussion on a quiet day. Glad to have you back posting.

    Dan, always a pleasure.

Bobby, you can do most CF workouts without running/rowing. Think couplets that involve a lift, and a bodyweight workout
21-15-9 of cleans/burpees for example. Also, bring in a skipping rope to move between weights, pull ups, skipping, other bodyweight exercises.
