  1. Ok, a bit off topic again but I’ve never been to a hurling match and was told today that Sunday’s game should be good and that I wouldn’t be able to get tickets to any matches after that. So in the interest of learning and, um watching new sports, anybody interested?

  2. Kyle, I’ll head along with you. Though I dislike travelling to that side of the city, and I think it’s a travesty they let games like that be played in the hallowed Rugby ground like Croke Park :)
(you won’t get the joke, hopefully others will)

So I sent “Steve” a mail yesterday to see if he was legit, and got a mail-daemon response saying the email address didn’t exist (Quel Surprise!). I CC’d young William into the mail and he replied with this little gem. Seeing as it’s a slow Friday I thought I’d share it with you:

Imagine if you got an honest reply:

    Hi Colm,

Sorry for the confusion. To answer your question, I’m a 14 year old martial artist/carpenter/powerlifter/personal trainer who maintains a ripped-to-shreds 55kg physique all year round thanks to my not being afraid of the occasional sweet. I’ve trained with all the top guys in MMA, including the one that I know so well that I refer to by his nickname. I do this so you will know that me and him are bestest best friends and he agrees with all my theories on training.

We don’t really “know” each other as such, I just feel like I do from stalking you from message board to message board for all these years.

I feel that CF should incorporate 21s and preacher curls cuz if you measure the bicep strength of someone who trains biceps against someone who doesn’t train biceps then the guy who trains biceps will have stronger biceps. Espcially in the long head of the bicep, I know this because I have a sports science degree, and I’m not as fat as Greg Glassman.

Regarding my actually experience with CF, I mostly look at the progress made by all the athletes participating in it with admiration, but then I get extreme cognitive dissonance becuase I know in my heart that you’re not supposed to train like that and I write incoherent drivel about how they should be primarily training their necks instead of all that other stuff.

Of course, if they listened to me then they wouldn’t get as fit, and this confuses me. So I sit in my gym doing around the world chins for a few weeks to try and figure that out, then come back with a new username and repeat the cycle.

    Hope this clears things up,
    Liam/Paul/Damo/Steve/Anton

PS I’m behind you right now.

I damn near pissed myself when I read that. Thanks Will!

  3. Remember Kyle, you need to support the best team in the country

So start shouting “Up Tipp!” and praise “da Premier County” and you won’t go far wrong.

  4. 11:00 for Jeremy, with 30kg OHS. My snatch balance was, to put it mildly, crap so yay, more stuff to practise.

  5. Yes Liam. In fact, we are all very, very jealous of all of the claims you make on the anonymity of the internet. I personally aspire to someday claim half as much as you. I’d better get practicing.

  6. Deleted “Steve”‘s subsequent comment and added him to the spam filter. I’m offended by the idea of someone paying for the bandwidth that’s being used to broadcast text like that to people.

  7. So a few observations on men’s gymnastics floor routines. First, when they do their run then triple flip whatever, they seem to be jumping far higher than any of the high jumpers. If so, why don’t the high jumpers learn how to do the run-front handspring-flip over the bar?

Secondly why, while performing some of the most difficult feats that a human can, do they still put in these gay little artistic flourishes?

  8. To make us feel less ashamed about not being able to do those things. Very nice of them when you think about it.

  9. Hmmm,

    Snatch balance: 40-45-45

Jeremy- as rx’d: 16.43! had to snatch the bar into position which made things interesting. That’s a vile bugger of a workout.

  10. Snatch Balance
The Kyle – 40Kg (aggravating hip injury)

    OHS
    Ames – 11Kg x 5
    Mike – 11Kg x 5

    “Jeremy”
    Ames – 9:23 (6Kg OHS)
    The Kyle – 7:18 as rx’d
    Mike – 8:56 (20Kg FS)

    Tabata Push Ups
    Colm: 19-14-10-9-4-4
    The Kyle: 23-15-10-7-6-6
