  1. Whats the “CINDY” record amongst you crossfitters just curious as I plan to attempt it come the new year to see my current state of fitness or lack off??

And I take it you can go from chins to pull ups to mixed grip pull ups etc am I correct?

  2. Paul – 23:44
    Phil – 25:48
    Shane – 27:32
All at 5kg, not sure how we scaled it last time, we didn’t write it down.

    Anton,
I haven’t done Cindy in months, I’ve subbed Mary for it the last few times as it hits more of my weaknesses. 20 rounds is considered good, 30 is excellent and 40 is firebreather territory. (There’s a 16yo in Ramona,CA who has a 36 round Cindy!)
Feel free to change the pull up grip, just ensure everything is full ROM because it’s very easy for you to decrease it on high rep calisthenics.

Of course, you could always pop up and we’ll have it as the WoD!

  3. Thanks Colm,

36 rounds thats inhuman thats 180 pull ups, 360 push ups, and 540 squats in 20 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!! Even 20 rounds is supreme thats 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, and 300 squats…….. Ok I admit I’m far from my peak at the moment in fact I’m not in shape at all but when I was I could do sets of 20 pull ups strict form, even if I was at that standard again I doubt I would reach 20 rounds!!! Are you sure people are maintaining strict form as they fatigue?

I must get in reasonable nick again and give it a fair crack and report back!!

  4. Hey Will,

I only have dial up at home will have a look in an internet cafe tomorrow thanks dude…… Can I ask what your own personal best is on Cindy?

    Cheers Anton

  5. It’s been going down a lot since I started becoming a pushup nazi! Last time I did a full cindy was a good while back, I got 13 rounds. Did a mini cindy about a month ago though and got 9 rounds in ten minutes (just 2 squats away from 10…grrr), so I reckon I’d probably beat that at the moment.

  6. Cheers Will,

13 rounds would have taught a little higher considering you have some impressive weightlifting stats.. Would I be correct in saying certain bodyweight exercises you find challenging ie: pull ups. I apologise in advance if my assumptions are wrong just curious?

The mini Cindy is a good idea considering I’m only getting back into things 20 minutes is too intense initially..
    Anton..

  7. Just looked up my log, the 13 rounder was back when I’d just transitioned off a cycle on the Starting Strength program, had just started working on a building site, wasn’t eating in the Zone and was going out drinking four or five times a week.

The major factor was that I hadn’t done any Crossfit workouts in ages, that was my second metcon workout in 4 months! So yes, not my best work.
