Trans fats to be banned as a means to stop Obesity – Daily Telegraph Article. While I think it’s a good idea it’s another reactionary solution, just like adding vitamins to grains to curb the problems associated with them rather than just stopping the production/consumption of grain.
Crossfit Ireland Junior Program starts today – forging the future of fitness.
Can you imagine just how strong and fit you’d be if you started Crossfitting when you were still a kid? Or better yet, had never spent all that time in the gym doing silly workouts and never getting the results you wanted? Hopefully with Crossfit Kids we can improve the childhood fitness levels in our small corner of the globe and help develop their confidence.
Couldn’t the world do with more healthy, confident people?

Banning the production of grain? I’m imagining a future where sugary drinks are sold down alleys by shady pushers, and the government is running ads like: “This is your pancreas. And this is your pancreas on 250g/day of suagr”.
I think history has taught us that banning white powders doesn’t do much to stop people taking em by itself. Maybe a better strategy would be giving people the legitimate information about how to look after themselves from a young age. Kinda like what you’re doing right now Colm
lol! I get what you’re saying dude, it’s just funny to me when you hear about Roosevelt (I think) passing laws to enrich grains with Thiamin and other vitamins when people were getting deficiencies from eating these grains to the detriment of veg, fruit and nuts!
As an aside I got some great looks today in Westpark wearing my “SAY NO TO SMITH MACHINES” t-shirt. I busted out a Fran, then deadlifted, then just did some handstand walks up and down the gym floor. Commercial gyms are funny places.
Haha, nothing like freaking out the norms. Someone nearly fell off a treadmill trying to look over their shoulder at me doing clapping pullups in Trinity’s gym before.
I try not to judge though, I was one of those poor bastards on the treadmills for about a year. Bad times, but hey, that’s what the guy with the nametag told me to do. And he sounded like he knew what he was talking about…
Ugh, grains…commerical gyms…I’m all angry now
Hopefully I inspired some people to do handstand walks and not mind falling over!
